About this category
In short

You can paint glass and porcelain at home without a kiln: degrease the glass with alcohol, draw the outlines with a liner, fill in the areas with paint, then let it dry or fire it in a regular oven, depending on the type of paint. Painted areas must not come into contact with food or drinks.

Painting on glass and porcelain is a technique that turns an ordinary glass, vase, or plate into an original piece. In this category, you’ll find glass and porcelain paints, liners, markers, and stencils.

How do you do it step by step?

  1. Wash the item and degrease it with alcohol. Handle it only by the edges.
  2. Sketch the motif with a marker, or place a reference image inside, behind the glass.
  3. Draw the outlines with a liner and let them dry.
  4. Fill in the areas with paint. For windows, use stained glass paint that doesn’t need baking; for glasses and porcelain, use paint that needs to be baked.
  5. Let bake-on paints dry, then bake them in a cold oven according to the instructions (KREUL 160 °C for 90 minutes, Pebeo Vitrea 160 160 °C for 40 minutes).
