How long does it take for OKTO modeling clay to harden completely?

Drying time depends on the thickness and size of your creation. Thinner parts harden in just a few hours, but for larger figures, we recommend letting the clay dry at room temperature for about 24 to 48 hours. During drying, keep the clay away from direct heat to prevent cracks from forming on the finished piece.

Can you mix different colors of OKTO clay?

Yes, OKTO colors are designed to mix easily, so you can create new shades. Just take pieces of two different colors and knead them thoroughly in your hands until you get an even tone. This lets you create subtle color transitions or a marbled effect for a unique look in your models.

What should I do if OKTO clay starts to dry out while I’m working?

If the clay starts to harden before you finish a detail, gently moisten it with clean water. Add just a few drops and knead the clay thoroughly in your hands to restore its elasticity. We recommend taking only as much clay from the pack as you’re currently using and sealing the rest in an airtight container right away.

Can you decorate finished OKTO clay creations?

Of course. Once your creation has hardened completely, you can decorate it further. The surface is suitable for painting with acrylic paints or pens, or for varnishing to achieve a gloss effect. To join pieces that have already dried, use regular paper glue or craft glue to create a strong, durable bond between the parts.
