Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a telescopic tube and a fixed tube?
A telescopic tube from LENIAR lets you adjust the length to match the size of your drawing paper, making it ideal for carrying various formats. A fixed tube has a set length, but often offers greater durability and better impact protection for its contents. When choosing, consider whether you need flexibility or prefer maximum stability for your artwork.
How do I choose the right drawing tube size?
Always measure the longest side of your paper. The tube must be a few centimeters longer so the drawing paper fits comfortably inside without its edges creasing. Our ARTMiE selection includes models with various diameters to fit common formats from A3 to A0. If you plan to carry several pieces at once, choose a tube with a larger diameter.
Are drawing bags also suitable for carrying canvases?
Drawing bags are primarily designed for paper that can be rolled up. They are not suitable for rigid canvases or laminated boards, as these could be damaged. For canvases, we recommend our special portfolios or bags with a rigid construction, which keep your artwork flat and protect it from mechanical damage during transport.
How can I protect drawing paper from moisture while carrying it?
Quality LENIAR tubes are made from durable plastic materials that provide excellent protection from moisture and rain. For extra peace of mind, we recommend wrapping the drawing paper in a thin film or tissue paper before putting it in the tube. This will help keep your work dry and safe, even in bad weather on your way to the studio.
Is the strap on the tube sturdy enough for longer trips?
Most tubes in our ARTMiE selection come with an adjustable shoulder strap designed for comfortable carrying. The straps are attached to support the weight of the tube and its contents. If you often travel longer distances, check whether your chosen model has a padded section on the strap, which will make carrying your artwork every day much more comfortable.
