I tried Hahnemühle Nostalgie paper after a colleague in Europe recommended it for a joint project. I make illuminated manuscripts with extensive ink work, gilding, painting, and cutouts, a demanding test for most papers. I usually work on vellum. I’m thrilled with this paper! Ink and paint stay on the smooth surface instead of soaking in, so I can paint large areas without warping and with full color intensity. The surface takes gilding beautifully. It also allows for beautiful corrections with a light scrape of a razor blade, without damaging the paper.
Excellent for colored pencils. I usually use hot-pressed watercolor paper or Pastelmat, so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve fallen in love with this paper. It’s also excellent value for money.
