KREUL Deco Hardener is a great helper for creative people who want to give their ideas a tangible form. Use the shapeable, water-based KREUL fabric stiffener Deco Hardener to mold untreated paper surfaces, textiles, silk, or leather and create entirely new objects: flat fabrics become containers. It’s great for upcycling and creating new designs. Bottles, metal buckets, and glass jars can be used to coat them with patterned paper or fabric. A rag can become a fruit bowl, a cotton bag a storage container, and clothing a sculpture. Art lovers can bring their creations to life with paints: once dry, newly made decorative objects can be painted with KREUL fabric paints or KREUL acrylic paints.
HOW TO USE
Apply KREUL Deco Hardener to the fabric and work it in with a brush until everything turns into a milky liquid. You’ll need approximately 150 ml for a cotton bag (38 x 42 cm). Wear disposable gloves. Stretch the bag over a smooth, non-absorbent container (such as a glass or bucket) and shape it as desired. Deco Hardener is dry when it becomes transparent on the fabric. This takes 2 to 3 days at room temperature, 10 minutes in a preheated oven (110°C), or 10 - 40 minutes with a hair dryer, depending on the thickness of the coating. Once the outside is transparent, remove the container and continue drying the inside. Wash the brush with water immediately. Once completely dry, the object should be coated with protective varnish to retain its shape when in contact with water. Apply several thin coats.
