Pebeo Studio Black Gesso from the Studio Acrylics line is a high-quality acrylic primer for reliably preparing surfaces before painting. It creates a matte, absorbent, finely textured ground with a deep dark tone, ideal for dramatic color contrasts. It is suitable for professional artists, art students, and hobby artists working with acrylic paints, oil paints, or tempera paints.

This gesso has a thick, heavy-body consistency and adheres well to canvas, wood, paper, cardboard, drywall, and MDF boards. It can be thinned with water and applied with a brush, palette knife, or roller in one or more coats. Once dry, it forms a firm, non-sticky surface that can be lightly sanded to achieve a perfectly smooth texture.
