Crackle varnish is used to imitate fine cracks in old porcelain. Pack contains: 50 ml phase 1 + 50 ml phase 2.

Application:

• apply the first phase to the surface of an already decorated item,
• once it has dried, apply the second phase and rub it thoroughly over the surface with your fingers,
• the varnish layer of phase 2 will crack as it dries,
• you can accentuate the cracks by rubbing a non-water-based coloring material into the surface (liquid patina or antiquing paste),
• the pattern of the resulting cracks depends on the thickness of each applied phase and the drying time,
• phase 2 is not water-resistant once dry, so it must be coated the next day with varnish that can be thinned with thinner.
