Crackle varnish is used to imitate fine cracks on old porcelain. Pack contains: 100 ml of phase 1 + 100 ml of phase 2.
Application:
- apply the first phase to the surface of an already decorated object,
- once it has dried, apply the second phase and spread it thoroughly over the surface with your fingers,
- the varnish layer of phase 2 will crack as it dries,
- you can accentuate the cracks by rubbing a non-water-based coloring material into the surface (liquid patina or antiquing paste),
- the pattern of the resulting cracks depends on the thickness of each applied phase and the drying time,
- phase 2 is not water-resistant once dry, so the next day you need to coat it with a varnish that can be thinned with thinner.
