Final varnish made from natural resin by Schmincke for oil paintings. Wax varnish is applied with your fingers or a lint-free cloth in the thinnest layers possible. Apply only to a completely dry painting surface, no sooner than 8 to 12 months later. Once completely dry (approximately 24 hours), the original matte varnish layer can be carefully polished with a soft brush to a silk-gloss finish. The dried varnish layer remains soluble in turpentine oil or varnish remover for a long time. Schmincke wax varnish contains beeswax, dammar, and mineral spirits.
