Schmincke Retarder for AERO COLOR RETARDER
Retarder for AERO COLOR RETARDER Schmincke | Various Sizes
This retarder from the quality German brand Schmincke is designed to extend the drying time of AERO COLOR paints. It also reduces paint residue on the airbrush needle. The AERO COLOR range features highly lightfast, brilliant paints specially developed for all airbrush techniques. They have a consistency suitable for fountain pens, airbrushes, and brushes. They are ready to use straight away, and thanks to their excellent pigmentation, they can also be used undiluted.
How to use:
AERO Retarder is ready to use. It should be added to AERO COLOR ink at a maximum ratio of 1:1, but a lower ratio is recommended because the ink loses some intensity when retarder is added. Do not use undiluted. The product is miscible with water. For optimal results when spraying, use at a working temperature of 15 to 30 degrees Celsius, an air pressure of 2 bars, and a nozzle size of 0.15 mm (color shades) or 0.3 mm (effect paints). Close the container immediately after use.

Customer reviews
The ink arrived well packed and right on time. Since it’s water-based and dries quickly, it was perfect for making monotype prints for Christmas cards at home.
Great product. I highly recommend it to anyone working with water-based relief inks who struggles with how quickly they dry. I used to get really frustrated when the ink dried on the plate before I could transfer it to paper. I’d avoid printing in low humidity because I knew it wouldn’t work. This medium solves the problem brilliantly.
Finally, the paint doesn’t dry so quickly in the nozzle. This retarder has made my work much easier.
I use it in my airbrush, and it’s a great help, especially for fine details.
An excellent addition. It works exactly as I expected.
