It dries slowly and is hard to apply evenly with a brush. I let it dry halfway before adding another layer of paint. It gave the surface a nice texture and extended the working time while the paint was wet.
If you’ve ever used Stand Oil or sun-thickened linseed oil for amazing glazing techniques in oil painting, this is the acrylic equivalent. It has the same molasses-like consistency and dries to a completely clear, glassy finish. In thin layers, it dries very quickly, allowing you to build great depth in your work. With this and glazing medium, you can achieve every type of glazing you’ll ever need.
All the acrylic gels and pastes from Golden that I’ve used have been excellent quality.
