Elastic Wood 6 x 6 x 0.6 cm

Wooden ornament, also known as elastic wood, from the art brand Pentart is used for decorative purposes. When heated to the right temperature, it becomes highly moldable, supple, and flexible. It is also suitable for curved surfaces on decorated objects because it bends easily and retains its shape after cooling. This moldable wooden ornament is made from wood pulp and is suitable for painting, decorating, and scrapbooking. As a decorative component, it is also ideal for embellishing furniture, pictures, mirrors, boxes, bottles, and more.

HOW TO USE

Simply glue the elastic wood onto the surface you want to decorate. If you want to shape it, use a heat gun or hair dryer. When using a hair dryer, allow more time for heating. Heat it until it reaches the right moldable consistency. If the surface you are decorating is curved, quickly place the heated elastic wood onto the object and press it into the desired shape. Once it has hardened, you can attach it with a hot glue gun or craft glue. Adjust the elastic wood to fit the dimensions of the object you are decorating by trimming it with scissors or sanding it with sandpaper. You can then paint it with acrylic paints and seal it with wax or varnish. Find out more about the product in the video below.

OUR TIP

To highlight the texture of the elastic wood, we recommend using wax paste, metallic wax paste, or metallic flakes to create an antique look. For a softly patinated, worn look, we recommend using antiquing paste. You can also glue the elastic wood directly onto canvas.
